Your address in Cyprus isn't that easy!
If you live in a town in Cyprus, you’ll have a street address and even a four digit postcode. Fair enough. You’ll even get your post delivered to the mailbox you put next to the road.
But if you live in one of Cyprus’ villages, the answer isn’t quite as easy. Deliveries to the villages certainly aren’t daily, and deliveries to your mailbox are pretty variable.
In our own case, the postman rings us when we get post, and we meet him at the village coffee shop to collect it.
Whilst being delightful, its not the sort of service you can depend on when you’re in a hurry.
So many people living in Cyprus end up with a mailbox at a post office in one of the towns. For example, we have a PO Box in Paphos.
It’s the only way you can be sure of getting your mail in a reasonable time.
And do we have an address in our village? No – were just known by our name, the village and the postcode. And that’s it!
