Orites Wind Farm, Kouklia, Paphos District, Cyprus
As you drive along the highway between Paphos and Limassol, you can’t help but notice a new feature of the skyline – the new wind farm at Orites.
With the first phase due to be finished in late 2010, some the wind turbines are now in place in the mountainous Orites area of Kouklia in Paphos District.
The wind farm at Orites is the first ever wind farm to be built in Cyprus.
Go horse riding in Paphos Forest with Ride Cyprus
My twelve year old daughter loves horse riding. No more than that – she’s horse mad. And today we found the perfect place to take her horse riding in Cyprus.
It’s called Ride in Cyprus, and its high in Paphos Forest just beyond the village of Lysos on the road to Stavros tis Tsokkas. A bit off the beaten track, but well worth making the effort to visit.

Provisional dates have been announced for the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) 2010. Round 12 – the final round of the rally – will be the FxPro Cyprus Rally held in Limassol on 4-6 November 2010.

Defending Middle East Rally Champion (MERC) Nasser Al-Attiyah of Qatar scored an important victory winning the 2009 Troodos Rally and taking the Championship lead ahead of the final two rounds of the 2009 MERC in Jordan and Dubai.
