It’s Thursday 3 November – and later today the 2011 Cyprus Rally kicks off in spectacular style with a thrash around the streets of Paphos. Right now it’s lunchtime and the service park is a hive of activity.
All the facts to see the action!
The 2011 Cyprus Rally Service Park is split into two areas by Paphos Harbour. The big works teams are in an area in front of Paphos Castle, whilst the others are in the car park next to the harbour.
Everywhere it’s buzzing. Cars are being worked on. Final tweaks being made. And in many cases, service crews are enjoying the Cyprus sunshine. After the last round of the Intercontinental Rally Championship (IRC) in Scotland – this must be a delight!
The Service Park is dominated by the Skoda team. It's not that many years since Skoda was synonymous with poor quality and the butt of lots of jokes. How times have changed!
It’s just hours now until the first Special Stage of the 2011 Cyprus Rally. The Super Special Stage will be held in Paphos Old Town, around the Town Hall. If you want to see the action, be there by 6pm.
