The inaugural Paphos International Rally, which is set to take place from the 1st to the 3rd of July, will bring international motorsport to Cyprus once again and promises to be a hugely exciting event. You could be there, enjoying a short break in the Cyprus sunshine.
Round 4 of the 2011 FIA Middle East Rally Championship, the event succeeds the acclaimed Troodos Rally and will see the region’s top drivers going head to head in their bid for the championship title, while also providing a major boost to Paphos’ tourism industry.
“We attach great importance to rallying in Cyprus and it is for this reason that we expressed such a warm and heartfelt interest in bringing this event to Paphos,” says Mayor of Paphos Savvas Vergas.
The chance to combine spectating at a high profile international motorsports event with a short break in the sun is a great opportunity for sports fans, and the Paphos International Rally is expected to draw many hundreds of locals and overseas fans.
The Paphos International Rally will attract major names from across the Middle East and Cyprus and will be flagged off at 19:30 on Friday 1st July from the harbour by Paphos’ medieval castle.
