Kouklia Snake Park has an interesting collection of Cypriot snakes including the Blunt Nosed Viper, Montpellier and Whip Snake.  As well as snakes, its also got lizards and chameleons.  All in all, well worth a visit.

Some people worry about snakes in Cyprus – they do exist and they’re venomous so they could kill you in extreme circumstances.

In fact, snakes in Cyprus are very timid.  You’re unlikely to see one because they’ll get out of your way long before you get close to them.  They are also wonderfully camouflaged which makes them even harder to spot.

A visit to the snake park in Kouklia will put your mind at rest.  You can look at the Blunt Nosed Viper – the most venomous of Cyprus snakes – and see for yourself how timid they are.

The Snake Park in Kouklia is run by a very knowledgeable local guy who is happy to get the snakes out of their pens if you want to hold one.  Try it – they feel amazing!

The Snake Park in Kouklia is easy to find – it’s signed from the old Paphos to Limassol road.
