The vineyards around Polemi become a riot of colour in the autumn
The hillsides around Polemi and Stroumbi in Paphos Region are covered in vineyards.
It’s a terrific place to walk in the country at any time of the year, but in autumn the golden colours of the vines add a real vibrancy to the countryside.
Autumn temperatures are still very pleasant – in fact probably the most pleasant of the entire year. Even in November expect to see mid-twenties Celsius – though it does cool down rapidly when the sun sets. Also expect full sun virtually every day – this is Cyprus after all!
This is ideal walking country. Leave your car in Polemi and walk northwards across the vineyards. They just go on and on, covering the hillsides. And when you get back to Polemi, drop in the coffee shop for a big welcome and refreshment.
